Self Directed Support (SDS) lets people choose how their health and social care support is provided. This includes providing them with as much control as they want of their individual budget after a Social Work Assessment.

Their are 4 available SDS options:

  • Option 1: This is a Direct Payment (Cash) to purchase support either from a Care Provider or by employing your own personal assistant.
  • Option 2: This is where either the local authority or an organisation of your choice holds the money and lets you to decide how it is spent to meet your needs.
  • Option 3: This option allows the local authority - with input from you - to spend the money on the required support.
  • Option 4: This final option lets you choose a mix of Options 1,2, and 3 depending on the support you need.

In Clackmannanshire, Falkirk or Stirlingshire, Self Directed Support Forth Valley provides assistance in obtaining and using SDS. Please use the contact details below.
