Connecting during COVID-19

During these extraordinary times we have been isolated from many of the activities that would normally fill our days. With this in mind, we are collating various online activities, events and support sessions that will be happening ‘as live’ ** over the coming weeks.

These range from exercise and dance classes, to arts sessions, plays and concerts. Most of the activities are designed specifically for older people, while the plays and concerts are there for you to enjoy if they are to your taste.

The support sessions will include anything relevant we are aware of for carers and people living with dementia in Scotland, as well as highlighting any opportunities for more general peer support from across the UK.

Nearly everything included on this calendar will be available to catch up with online for at least a few days after the live event has finished.

** ‘as live’ means some of the events you watch may have been recorded live for you to watch, rather than actually happening live.

How to use the calendar

To view details for any entry on the calendar, just click on the activity’s title. To view similar activities, you can click on the tags at the bottom of the entry (these tags say what type of activity it is eg: exercise). There is a search box on the left of the calendar toolbar and you can change the date by clicking on the date box next to this.

You can change the layout between Pinboard (which is a grid) and the default Agenda using the buttons on the right of the toolbar at the top of the calendar. There is also the option to Subscribe to the calendar, which means you can add these events to a calendar app you may use.
